- Vegetables food such as chopped onions, garlic, scallions or shallots can reduce the risk for prostate disease. Tomato, which is high in lycopene, has an inhibiting effect on prostate diseases. Putting some carrots in, will help your body to absorb more of lycopene. You should eat them raw as the powerful nutrients of vegetables food are destroyed during cooking.
- Consumption of soy products can protect you against prostate cancer. Soy rich food are rich with isoflavone. Studies show isoflavones retard prostate cancer growth and cause prostate cancer cells to die. It also stops the conversion of testosterone to DHT and blocks estrogen�s undesirable effects on the prostate gland. You should take soy products such as tofu, soybeans and soymilk.
- Raisin, pears, oranges, apples, grapes and lima beans contain boron to keep your prostate healthy. If you have a diversified diet, you should have enough amount of boron for prostate health. Food supplements coupled with boron should be taken if your diet cannot provide sufficient boron for your prostate needs.
